The intense battle between Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 2025 IPL season unites two teams that have the word Royal in their names, but that’s where the parallel ends. After a wonderful series of wins, RCB looks to consolidate its position and secure its first win at home this term. On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals are in utter confusion as they have lost four matches in a row, which they seemed well placed to win, including two recent games against the Delhi Capitals and the Lucknow Super Giants.

RR, who posted those defeats, moves on to 2-6, with only a mathematical chance to make the playoffs. The recurring problem for them, be it with bat or ball, has been their self-destruction in the final quarter of their innings. They have been having strong starts but failed to close out games, leaving fans and management fuming.

There was an opportunity for the spotlight to again narrow to the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made an impressive debut and showed promise as a future star, skipper Sanju Samson still being ailing from injury. Suryavanshi will also have Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Shimron Hetmyer alongside, who will finally take charge if RR makes this match competitive.

Instead, RCB will be licking their lips at the opportunity to take on a troubled RR side. Their win at Mullanpur over Punjab Kings gave them some confidence, and they now head home to take on the same teams. Next is to make their home ground a fortress by winning only two of their remaining six games from Bangalore.

RCB had easily beaten RR on another occasion this season at Jaipur, and a win today would take them into the top three. RR, though, has the talent, as it is a question of whether they can finally unlock it.
