BCCI on Sunday revealed that Indian coach Ravi Shastri tested positive for the coronavirus and has been quarantined with three of his close contacts, including the team’s bowling coach Bharat. Alan. The ongoing fourth test for England is not a threat, as all other players tested negative on two lateral flow tests on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated in a press release stated, “The BCCI Medical Team has isolated Mr Ravi Shastri, Head Coach, Mr B. Arun, Bowling Coach, Mr R. Sridhar, Fielding Coach and Mr Nitin Patel, Physiotherapist as a precautionary measure after Mr Shastri’s lateral flow test returned positive last evening.” “They shall remain in the team hotel and not travel with Team India until confirmation from the medical team,” the release added.

BCCI also confirmed that all members of the Indian team, including XI who participated in the oval test, had undergone two lateral flow tests and were allowed to go to the site only after both tests were negative.
