Heavy downpour, which started on early hours of the day, has prevented match for the second consecutive day in the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The early morning rain did not allow any ground to be cleared, which made no form of cricket to be played. Unfortunately, the groundsmen tried their best attempting to prepare the pitch although the drizzles continued.

Rain was easy to diagnose on the first day only 35 overs were bowled because of bad light and interruption of the rain. So far, Bangladesh will start their next innings at 107 for 3 and Mominul Haque is on 40 for his great performance against India fast bowlers. He is accompanied by Mushfiqur Rahim another man in good nick and the below middle order of Bangaldesh looks formidable now.

India’s bowlers are still waiting for some help from the wicket because the pitch has not been made to do much as yet by rain. India’s stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss for India and then made a rather rare decision for Indian conditions, he chose to field too.

Both teams are hopeful that the weather will hold especially after they lost 55 overs to rain on the first day. Bangladesh’s top-order played out his side’s new ball nicely without much loss of wickets, and the team will hope regulars like Rahim, Shakib al Hasan, and Litton Das will make the most out of the pitch before the latter starts to misbehave.

Notably, Bangladesh has chosen to have Taijul Islam as an additional slow bowling option as India also wants to use their spinners to their maximum facility. Ravichandran Ashwin got some spin and uneven bounce during his bowling, but never really threatened the batters, and Ravindra Jadeja was left unused again.
