Paris Paralympics: Shooters Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal secure gold and bronze respectively for India in Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 final at Paris Paralympics 2024. Avani, who also won the gold three years back in Tokyo, set a Games record with an aggregate 249.7 while Mona took bronze with a total of 228.7. Meanwhile, sprinter Preethi Pal secured India’s third medal, clinching bronze in Women’s 100m T35 final.

India’s star athlete Preethi Pal won India’s first-ever medal in the 100m event at the Paralympics with a bronze in the 2024 Paris Games on Friday, August 30. Preethi finished the women’s 100m T35 event with 14.21s, her personal-best record, to claim India’s third medal at the 17th Summer Paralympics Games.

Manish Narwal too will look to defend his title in Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 Qualification. Both events have qualification first, followed shortly by the finals on the same day. Mona Agarwal and Rudransh Khandelwal will also be in action in those events.

Badminton group-stage action will continue with Manasi Joshi facing a must-win match after her fighting loss against the world No 1 on Thursday.
