As per Hardik Pandya will lead the T20Is against Sri Lanka while Rohit Sharma who was recently off the ground returns as the Chief in ODIs against similar rivals starting Jan 10th. Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been ruled out of both the squads along with skipper Shikar Dhawan.
The announcement was made by BCCI late night on Tuesday. Further it confirmed that Virat Kohli would also miss in action in the T20Is against SL starting Jan 3rd. The press release did not mention if Pandya’s appointment was a permanent one as there are no updates so far on the recovery of Rohit Sharma, who sustained a thumb injury previously.
Pant who was a part of India’s win against Bangladesh would be a notable absentee from both the squads. KL Rahul who is not a part of the T20I is named as the wicketkeeper for ODIs.
