The highly anticipated Diamond League 2023 kicked off in Doha on Friday, with Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra stealing the show with a spectacular throw of 88.67m to claim the top spot. The silver medallist from Tokyo 2020, Jakub Vadlejch, came in a close second with a best attempt of 88.63m, while world champion Anderson Peters settled for third place with a throw of 85.88m.
Meanwhile, Commonwealth Games triple jump champion Eldhose Paul made his Diamond League debut but finished 10th in the 11-man field. The 13-meeting series will culminate in the highly anticipated two-day Diamond League Final in Eugene on September 16-17th.
