The 14th season of the IPL is in progress in the UAE. With each passing match of the Chennai Super Kings in the tournament, the performance of skipper MS Dhoni is becoming a hot topic in the world of cricket. There are strong rumours that Dhoni may retire from the game after this season. But legendary skipper MS Dhoni has now hinted that he can expect the same next season.
Dhoni has revealed that he wants to play a farewell match at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, the home ground of the Chennai Super Kings. The statement was made while attending the 75th-anniversary celebrations of India Cements virtually. “You still have a chance to say goodbye to me. I hope you can reach Chennai where I played the last match. I can see all the fans here,” said Dhoni. Dhoni’s revelation has made the fans very excited that he will be there next season.
Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, is currently playing only in the IPL. Following the IPL, the former India captain will take up the role of Team India’s mentor during the T20 World Cup to be held in UAE later this month. Dhoni said that the country has always come first for him.
