Paris Olympics 2024: Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh etched history as they won a historic bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team shooting event comprehensively defeating South Korea’s Lee Wonoho and Oh Yeh Jin 16-10 on Day 4 of the Paris Olympics 2024.
Indian shooter Manu Bhaker has now become the country’s first athlete to win two medals in the same Olympics. First, Manu won the bronze medal in the women’s individual 10 meter air pistol final and now she has won the bronze medal along with Sarabjit Singh. In this way, she has created history.
This feat was first achieved by Sushil Kumar. He won a total of 2 medals in wrestling in 2008 and 2012. Then shuttler PV Sindhu won medals in 2016 and 2020. Now Manu is the athlete to win 2 medals in the Olympics for the country. However, the special thing is that Manu has become the only athlete to have won 2 medals in the same Olympic season. This had never happened before in history.
In rowing, Balraj Panwar will look to reach men’s singles sculls semifinals. India men’s hockey team will be squaring off against Ireland after their thrilling draw against Argentina in Pool B. Three Indian boxers – Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboria, and Preeti Pawar – will also be in action.
