Former Indian Skipper Virat Kohli is likely to miss the first One day International against England on Tuesday. A BCCI source on Monday revealed that Virat had a groin strain in the last match and will probably miss the first game against England. Reportedly, Kohli didn’t take the bus from Nottingham to London. The 33-year-old batsman may undergo a medical check-up before boarding for London.
Meanwhile, veteran Indian players Virendra Sehwag and Kapil Dev have questioned Virat’s place in Playing XI in T20I suggesting that a few more players should get a chance in his place one by one. Rohit Sharma on the other side has always Kohli’s presence in the team in all formats. The second and third ODI is scheduled on July 14 and July 17 respectively and a little break for Kohli in the first ODI may get him back in the side for the rest two games.
Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, and Prasidh Krishna were seen practicing at the nets at the Oval ground in London. Meanwhile, due to the COVID- 19 threat the BCCI has decided to take the Indian team by a special charter flight to Port of Spain.
