Indian batter Virat Kohli at the ongoing match against Afghanistan in the third Super 4 match of India on Thursday ended his century drought unbeaten at 122 of 61, the highest score by a batsman in T20Is for India as India posted a whooping score of 212/2 against the opponent team

This was Kohli’s 71st century in international format and first since November 2019. He looked like a relaxed man and celebrated his hundred by kissing the wedding ring that he wears in a locket around his neck.

Not to forget, Kohli had raised his bat as well with a big smile on his face and then hugged non-striker Rishabh Pant. Kohli has brought up his 100 with a six over deep mid-wicket, taking India to a massive 212/2 in 20 overs.

As captain Rohit Sharma was rested, Kohli was promoted to opening the batting with stand-in skipper KL Rahul. After a rollicking opening stand of 119 off 76 balls, Kohli accelerated amazingly from 59 off 40 balls to get his next 72 runs off just 21 balls.

Twitter flooded with emotions hailing the 33 year old batsman. Take a look

With this Kohli surpassed Rohit Sharma’s 118 against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017. He has also now equaled Ricky Ponting’s mark of 71 international centuries. Only Sachin Tendulkar (100) has scored more tons than Kohli and Ponting.
