The Gautam Gambhir-led team, KKR still holds their winning reputation, defeating only two out of five games, which is guessed to be a problem of inefficient bowling. Another big challenge awaits them on Monday, the match against Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals, which will have a decisive impact in their playoff game of the IPL 2024.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals, being captaincy of Rishabh Pant, have taken 4 out of 5 recent victories, which depicts the coming back thus far. Pant, who is getting consistent and has a battling lineup comprising Fraser-McGurk, Abhishek Porel, Shai Hope, and Stubbs, seems to be a big threat to KKR’s bowlers, who are defending the fortress.
KKR’s decision to replace the injured Mitchell Starc with Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera against Punjab Kings backfired. Chameera conceded 16 runs per over on his KKR debut, failing to make an impact. Apart from spinner Sunil Narine, who managed figures of 1/24 from four overs, the rest of KKR’s bowling unit struggled to contain the opposition.
Amidst the increasing competition as the playoffs approach, KKR must handle their bowling issue and get a much needed victory against Delhi Capitals. However, Delhi Capitals intends to continue up with the same pace and strengthen their funny place for the playoffs with a successful game.
