Mumbai: Veteran India bowler Jhulan Goswami will retire from her career in international cricket after the third ODI final against England, sources revealed today. She will play her last ODI scheduled on September 24 at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The Indian cricket board has decided to facilitate a farewell match for Jhulan Goswami and this “will be her last”, revealed a top BCCI official. Jhulan was selected in the ODI team for the forthcoming series against England. It is also noted that Jhulan did not participate in the ODI series against Sri Lanka because she was given a break following the 2022 ODI World Cup.
In all women’s cricket formats, Jhulan will retire with the most wickets taken. Currently, she has 352 wickets in total across the three formats.
Earlier on Friday, the India Women’s team for T20I and ODI series in England was revealed by the BCCI. Despite being injured and unable to participate in the current season of The Hundred, Jemimah Rodrigues has been included in both teams.
