NEW DELHI: Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah who was out of action for quite a long time owing to his injury is poised to make a come as the NCA has declared the right arm quick- ‘FIT’. Bumrah’s return to the field was announced by BCCI on 3rd January.
The statement read—-
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Bumrah was out of cricketing action since September 2022 and was also ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup due to a back injury. The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon.”
Bumrah was last seen in action in September 2022 at the T20I match against Australia in Hyderabad., following which he was ruled out due to a back injury. As an after math, he also missed thr ICC t20 World Cup in 2022 in Australia.
The match agaisnt SL will be opened at Guwahati on January 10th. The second ODI will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata whereas the final will be hosted in Trivandrum on January 15th.
Apart from Bumrah, regular captain Rohit Sharma who was also ruled out owing to his thumb injury is said to make a comeback with the ODI series agaisnt SL.
