Finally after a week’s break, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is all set to resume. Paused due to the tensions between India and Pakistan, the BCCI officially announced that IPL 2025 will be resuming soon. In the updated schedule, the tournament will now continue from 17 May, with RCB going against KKR at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The BCCI also said that they are continuing the IPL noting the national security, Indian government and the stakeholders. In view of the increasing security risks amidst the Pahalgam terror attack, which led to India’s military response through Operation Sindoor, the tournament was suspended. The situation got even worse with the cross-border shelling and drone activities by Pakistan, which were effectively eliminated by the Indian Army.

The revised fixtures comprise 17 matches equally divided for 6 venues, where the IPL 2025 final game will be played on June 3. The board also revealed that there will be two double-headers on two coming Sundays as part of the compressed schedule.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 which was also suspended in Pakistan is also likely to start soon, confirmation pending.

With the resumption date set, IPL fans will again have something to look forward to in that high-octane action returns as teams will prepare to fight for the highly coveted trophy in a short but electrifying opening tournament.
