The IPL organisers have said that the 2025 ceremony will be dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces. The main event will happen at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3, right before the final match of the tournament. After Operation Sindoor removed terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, it was finally agreed that India could deal with terrorism from across the LoC.
Saikia, the BCCI Secretary, said the news agency that the 2025 IPL closing ceremony will honour the troops in the Indian Armed Forces. Sources say that top military leaders such as Anil Chauhan, Upendra Dwivedi, Dinesh K Tripathi and AP Singh have already received invitations.
Experts believe the closing ceremony will see military bands perform, accompanied by famous Indian singers. The concert is to honour the brave and committed actions of our armed forces during their recent operations.
Sponsors have decided to commemorate those lost in the Pahalgam attack, which led to a short suspension of the IPL 2025 season when tensions between India and Pakistan rose. Once fighting stopped, the league returned, and every game started with the national anthem and messages thanking the military on the stadium screens.
In 2019, the BCCI recognised the military and donated ₹20 crore toward their welfare after the incident in Pulwama. By paying tribute this year, IPL shows once again that acknowledging national heroes outside cricket is important to them.
