Gujarat Titans’ batter Sai Sudharsan’s unbeaten half-century guided the defending champions to their second consecutive win in the IPL on Tuesday, which impressed GT skipper Hardik Pandya, who predicted that the 21-year-old Sudharsan will do great things in franchise cricket as well as for India two years down the line.

Sudharsan made an unbeaten 62 off 48 balls as Titans tamed Delhi Capitals for their second win as many games.

Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets. Chasing 162, Gujarat Titans were 54/3 inside the Powerplay. Unlike the last time around, the Titans had their backs to the wall between the sixth and 10th overs but Sai Sudharsan saw them through, first steadying things with Vijay Shankar, and then speeding it up with David Miller. He put up 53 off 44 with Shankar for the fourth wicket, then an unbeaten 56-run stand off 29 balls with Miller. Earlier, Gujarat Titans came up with a disciplined bowling effort to restrict Delhi Capitals to 162/8.

Wily Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan was the pick of GT bowlers (3/31) while fiery pace duo of Mohammed Shami (3/41) and Alzarri Joseph (2/29) gave a fine start after skipper Hardik Pandya opted to bowl.
