Sports: In another hit to the CSK, Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh affirmed on Friday that he won’t be able to play IPL 2020. The cricketer passed on his choice to the Chennai Super Kings Team Management about his decision on Friday. With this, he has become the second high profile name to pull out of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) after Suresh Raina, citing personal reasons.
The 40-year-old, who has been a part of CSK in the IPL for the past two consecutive years is currently in Jalandhar, Punjab with his family.
He took to twitter to inform his fans that due to personal reasons, he will be opting out of this year’s IPL.
Dear Friends
I will not be playing IPL this year due to personal reasons. These are difficult times and I would expect some privacy as I spend time with my family. @ChennaiIPL CSK management has been extremely supportive and I wish them a great IPL

The senior off-spinner is IPL’s third highest wicket-taker with 150 scalps in 160 matches. After playing his trade with Mumbai Indians for 10 seasons, Harbhajan was roped in by CSK ahead of IPL 2018.
Meanwhile, the CSK squad, barring the two players who tested positive for coronavirus last week, is likely to train from Friday in Dubai. CEO, Viswanathan also said earlier this week that despite the 13 positive Covid-19 cases in their contingent, the Super Kings were ready to play the tournament opener on September 19, if the schedule, which is yet to be announced, required them to.
