IPL 2020: BCCI Set to Spend Around 10 Crore for 20,000 or more Coronavirus Tests in UAE, says report

The board of control of cricket in India (BCCI) has planned almost Rs 10 crore for more than 20,000 COVID-19 tests to be led during the Indian Premier League beginning September 19, said reports.

While the eight franchise bore the expense of testing in India, the BCCI is taking care of the check for the RT-PCR tests which have been led from August 20 when the groups began landing in the UAE. 

A senior IPL official told PTI on states of obscurity, “We have drawn in VPS Healthcare, a UAE based organization to direct the tests. While I can’t put a number, it will be in excess of 20,000 tests which would incorporate everybody. Each test would cost BCCI around 200 AED (Dirham) barring charges,”.

“So, BCCI will spend something in the tune of Rs 10 crore for the COVID tests. Around 75 social insurance laborers who are important for the organization are an aspect of the IPL testing measure,” the authority said. 

The BCCI would not like to leave anything to risk the extent that security of players and authorities is concerned and the social insurance laborers have been placed in a different lodging. 

“We were unable to have faced the challenge. A different bio-bubble has been made by the organization in an inn. Around 50 of its social insurance staff are appended with testing measure while another 25 are occupied with lab and documentation work. 

“The BCCI is anyway not paying for this bio-bubble and hotelcosts which will be borne by the organization,” he informed. 

A total of 1988 COVID tests were completed between August 20 28 over every one of those engaged with the tournament, including players and care staff. 

Chennai Super Kings had to broaden their isolate after 13 individuals from their unforeseen tried positive, remembering two players for India seamer Deepak Chahar and A group batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad. 

All are right now going through a 14-day required isolate after which they should restore two negative tests, following which they can come back to training.
