Bhopal: The finals of two categories are being played today in the ISSF World Cup Shooting Championship wherein 50m Rifle 3 Positions men, India’s Aishwarya Pratap Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Swapnil Kusale Akhil Sheoran, Sandeep Rajput competed. In the women’s 25m pistol event, India’s Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh managed to make it to the finals, wherein Manu Bhaker shot for bronze to add medal to India’s kitty.
Aishwarya Pratap displayed brilliant performance and made it to the finale but missed out on a medal in a very close bid As he stood fourth in the competition, Du Linshu of China won golf and Istvan Peni of Hungary won silver medal. The bronze medal went ot Jan Eochwiller of Switzerland. Aishwarya Pratap who has previously represented India in Tokyo Olympics was the only shooter participating from MP in the competition.
Born in a farmer’s family in Ratanpur, Aishwarya belongs to a small village of Jhirniya tehsil of Khargone district. The shooter has so far won 10 medals for India including 4 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze in international competitions and 38 national competition medals including 21 gold, 8 silver, and 9 bronze.
