Ahmedabad: The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, is all set to face their arch-rivals Pakistan in a nail-biting match in the ICC Men’s World Cup tournament at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14 from 2 pm onwards. As India won the toss, it chose to bat first.

Both India and Pakistan have played two matches each in the tournament so far and won them both. This will be the eighth meeting between the two teams in 50-over World Cups, and Pakistan is yet to beat India in the tournament.

In the past four decades, since the 1980s, the two sides have played a total of 204 times, with Pakistan winning 88 matches compared to India’s 73 victories. In 134 ODIs, India has won 56 matches compared to 73 matches by Pakistan.

However, in World Cups, India has won all seven ODIs against Pakistan. In T20Is, India has won five matches, Pakistan has won one, and one has resulted in a tie. In the Champions Trophy, Pakistan has remained undefeated in three matches against India, which has won only two matches.

Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul (batting side). On the bowling side, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and R Ashwin will definitely try to dominate the game. Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Shaheen Afridi shall dominate from Pakistan team.

The match is expected to be a close and exciting one, and it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top.
