VISHAKAPATNAM: The Aussies shine as they defeat India by 10 wickets. Asked to bat first India recorded its third-lowest ODI in Vishakapatnam on Sunday against Australia. Mitchell Starcs’ five-wicket haul seized India’s guard in the second ODI handing over a low 117 in 26 overs against the visitors at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in VisHakhapatnam.

Mitchell bagged his ninth five wickets to finish with 5 for 53 in 8 overs. He picked the wickets of Shubman Gill (0), Rohit Sharma (13), Suryakumar Yadav (0), KL Rahul (1), and Mohammed Siraj (0) to complete a dominant performance with the ball for the Aussies. Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh brought up his 15th ODI half-century off just 28 balls. Travis on the other hand also brought his 14th half century in the run chase.

Virat Kohli who tried to hold ground was removed at 31 whiel Axar Patel remained unbeaten at 29. Apart from Starc, Sean Abbott amd Nathan Ellis took 2 and 3 wickets respectively.

India’ ODI history has recorded 63 and 100 ODI for all out in 1981 and 2000 in Sydney– the all-time lowest. At the home soil this is India’s fourth-lowest score in 50-overs cricket after 78 (vs Sri Lanka in 1986), 100 (vs West Indies in 1993), and 112 (vs Sri Lanka in 2017).
