The Indian tennis team is expected to face a stern test as they are set to take on a formidable Danish side in the Davis Cup today. A victory will help Indian team to cruise into the Davis Cup 2023 World Group 1 stage.

India ranked 26th in the Davis Cup standings will take part in one doubles and four single matches against the host Denmark. Prajnesh Gunneswaran is India’s top-ranked singles player in squad. Yuki Bhambri will challenge world no.9 Holger Rune in the opening rubber as India takes on Denmark in the Davis World cup tie.

Notably, Indian tennis team has succeeded in keeping their berth in World Group I ever since the new pattern was introduced in 2019. India had endured a crushing 1-3 defeat at the hands of Norway in their World Group I contest last year.
