Ranchi: India beat South Africa by scoring 282 runs for the loss of three wickets in the second match of three-match ODI series which was played yesterday in Ranchi. Though India made a strong comeback in the second ODI and won by seven wickets, this three-match ODI has now come on a level playing field. South Africa beat India by 9 runs in first ODI.
Shreyas Iyer did the job of scoring a brilliant century for the team in this match. He scored 113 not out off 111 balls. Ishan Kishan’s flamboyant 93 saw India making a mockery of a 279-run target set by South Africa in the second ODI at JSCA International Stadium.
Shikhar Dhawan led side levelled the three-match series 1-1. Mohammed Siraj impressed with figures of 3 for 38 in 10 overs, while Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur claimed a wicket apiece. South Africa’s stand-in captain Keshav Maharaj had opted to bat first against India in the game.
