IND vs SA, 2nd ODI: The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa is being played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first. Following this, India scored 358 for 5 in 50 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli, and captain KL Rahul. South Africa now must achieve the target of 359 runs to win the match and level the series.
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal were Dismissed
Rohit Sharma (14 runs) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (22 runs) were dismissed cheaply for India, but Kohli and Ruturaj Singh brought India back with a 195-run partnership for the third wicket. Ruturaj scored his first ODI century, and Kohli followed it up with his 53rd ODI century. Neither batsman didn’t stay at the crease for long after their centuries. KL Rahul and Jadeja then batted strongly in the final overs, taking India past 350.
It’s worth noting that India’s score is the highest ever in a One Day International at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. Previously, India played a single ODI here on January 21, 2023, where the Kiwis were bowled out for 108. In response, India scored 111 runs in 20.1 overs to win.
