Hamilton: A stop-start day ended in voctory for rain, with the Hamilton ODI washed out after 12.5 overs of play. The seconf ODI between India and New Zealand has been abandoned due to rain. Five overs were played when the match stopped initially and then the game resumed for a while with match reduced to 29-overs-per side at 12.5 overs it started to rain heavily. The umpires finally decided to call off the match.

“The 2nd New Zealand vs India ODI is called off due to persistent rain. We will see you in Christchurch for the third and final ODI of the series”, tweeted BCCI.

Suryakumar Yadav with 34 off 25 balls, and Shubman Gill with 45 off 42 entertained during an unbroken 66-run partnership off 46 deliveries, before the second rain interruption of the day killed all hopes of further action.

Earlier on November 25, brilliant century was recorded by Tom Latham and an unbeaten 94-run knock by Kane Williamson that guided New Zealand to a victory by seven wickets in first ODI of the three-match series. Meanwhile Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill had brought up their half centuries to guide Team India to a total of 306/7. The next match of the series is scheduled for November 30 at Christchurch.
