Sports: Indian Golfer Aditi Ashok sealed 3 birdies on Saturday and finished fourth after the end of the 4 pulsating rounds. The 23-year-old from Bangalore competed against World No 1 Nelly Korde of the USA and former World No 1 and Rio Olympics Silver Medallist Lydia Ko of New Zealand.
In Round 1, she shot four-under 67 to finish second along with the USA’s world number one Nelly Korda. Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom was in the lead after the opening round, scoring five-under 66. In the second round, she managed to score five-under 66 to keep her second place intact. Calling off the match Aditi scored 269 with a 15-under par to finish fourth overall after four rounds in the women’s individual stroke play.
Aditi Ashok, made history in the Rio Olympics as she became the youngest golfer to feature at the Games finishing 41 in the women’s individual event.
Her first tryst with 18 holes came as a six-year-old debutant at the Bangalore Golf Club. Following which she scored recognition at several international events.
