Ahmedabad- As the highly anticipated India versus Pakistan match in the upcoming World Cup approaches, cricket fans face an unexpected challenge in skyrocketing hotel prices in Ahmedabad. Attending the high-stakes match has become costly, with rates surpassing INR 50,000 per night.
However, these passionate cricket enthusiasts have devised a creative solution to overcome this hurdle. They are turning to nearby Motera, Ahmedabad hospitals for accommodation during the event.
Hospitals near the Narendra Modi Stadium have reported a surge in inquiries from fans seeking one or two-night stays. The packages offered by the hospitals range from INR 3,000 to INR 25,000, usually including food and a comprehensive medical examination.
The twin-sharing option, where a patient and an attendant can stay together, presents a more affordable alternative to the escalating hotel prices. The hospitals’ unique offerings cater to both fans’ accommodation needs while providing an opportunity for a health check-up, ensuring that both purposes are fulfilled.
Dr. Paras Shah, Director of Sannidhya Multi Speciality Hospital in Bhopal, explained, “Since it’s a hospital, they are asking for a full-body check-up and an overnight stay, so both of their purposes are fulfilled, saving money on lodging and getting their health check done.”
