Mohammed Shami: India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami achieved a big feat in his very first match in the Champions Trophy 2025. In the ongoing match against Bangladesh in Dubai, he completed 200 wickets in ODI cricket by taking 3 wickets. With this, Shami has become the fastest Indian bowler to take 200 wickets in ODIs.

Before this match of the Champions Trophy, Shami needed 3 wickets to complete 200 wickets. He started by taking a wicket in his first over. After this, he took the second wicket in his fourth over. Finally, he reached the figure of 200 wickets by dismissing Zakir Ali. Shami achieved this feat in just 5126 balls and broke the world record of Mitchell Starc (5240 balls).

Shami also holds the record for taking the most wickets for India in ICC events. He has surpassed Zaheer Khan (71 wickets) by taking a total of 73 wickets in the World Cup, Champions Trophy and T20 World Cup. Shami achieved this feat in just 33 matches. He has 59 wickets in 19 matches in the World Cup and Champions Trophy.

If we talk about the match, Bangladesh batted first and scored 228 runs in 49.4 overs. Tauhid Hridoy scored 100 runs in 118 balls for the team, apart from him Zaker Ali played an innings of 68 runs in 114 balls. For India, Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets, Harshit Rana took 3 wickets and Axar Patel took 2 wickets.
