As per recent reports, the ICC has canceled one of the most important events that was supposed to take place in Lahore on November 11—a 100-day countdown leading up to the 2025 Champions Trophy. It is happening due to scheduling conflicts arising from India not playing the match.

According to the media, the ICC had organized a special event to commemorate the 100-day countdown, but it has had to postpone it due to scheduling issues, especially with regard to Indian participation. The fact that the current weather in Lahore will not be conducive to the event’s hosting will likely be concealed by using scheduling conflicts as an excuse.

“The schedule is not confirmed; we are still in discussions with the host and participating nations on the Champions Trophy schedule. Once confirmed, we will announce through our normal channels,” an involved official in the know of the developments stated to the media.

India Will Not Travel To Pakistan

Since the ICC has already given Pakistan the opportunity to host the 2025 Champions Trophy, the decision was taken despite the ongoing diplomatic tension between India and Pakistan. The Indian team has been refused permission to travel to Pakistan by the Indian government, and the BCCI has apparently informed the ICC about this; now everything is left to the ICC and the PCB. Now the PCB itself will have to adopt a ‘hybrid model’, where some matches can be played in Pakistan and some at neutral venues.

“This is an ICC event, and BCCI has informed the global body that it won’t travel to Pakistan. It will depend on the ICC to inform the host nation about the development and then close in on the scheduling of the tournament. The convention is to announce the schedule 100 days prior to the commencement of the event,” Media quoted a source from the BCCI as saying.
