Hopes were high when Bavinaben Hasmukhbhai Patel entered the finals of para table tennis at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 game. She has brought the first Paralympics medal for the country today on national sports day. Though she lost the match to Zhou Hing of China by a set of 3-0 and missed the gold medal, India is still proud of her daughter for adding a silver medal to her feather. 

Narendra Modi along with other union ministers took to their Twitter accounts to congratulate Bhavina for bringing the first Paralympics medal for the country. The PM wrote, “The remarkable Bhavina Patel has scripted history! She brings home a historic Silver medal. Congratulations to her for it. Her life journey is motivating and will also draw more youngsters towards sports”. Apparently, Modi also spoke to Bhavina to personally congratulate her!

On the other hand, union minister Amit Shah seems to be very happy with this achievement by Bhavina. He wrote a long post in Hindi that says, “India’s daughter has once again created history. #Paralympics. Many congratulations to Bhavina Patel, who raised the honor of the country by winning the silver medal. And every Indian is happy about this historic achievement especially on the day of National Sports Day. Bhavina, the whole country is proud of you”.

Bhavina comes from Gujarat and has done remarkably well in her table tennis career. As she brags the medal for her country, her state chief minister Vijay Rupani also felt proud of the achievement. He wrote a post in Gujarati to congratulate her. “Congratulations to Bhavina Patel, our daughter from Gujarat, for giving this silver medal as a gift to the entire nation. Every Gujarati and Indian is proud of you. Bhavina’s historic achievement will inspire many players. #cheer4india”, the tweet by Rupani translates.

Apart from them, president Kovind, union minister Piyush goyal, sports minister Anurag Thakur, and lots of other diplomats and celebrities congratulated bhavina for her historic medal win at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 game. India is proud of you girl!
