There are increasing demands that BCCI should take immediate action because Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been performing miraculously and that makes him more than worthy to get a call to India. The speed of growth of the young prodigy has made it be compared to the cricketing legends and many feel that it has been even more explosive.
Sooryavanshi has already made milestones that are attained by most players in years at a very young age of 15. His consistency has been phenomenal since he scored one of the quickest centuries of all time in the history of the IPL, playing for Rajasthan Royals, and from then on, he has been a master of bowlers in England, Australia and South Africa. To add to his rising fame, he was also instrumental in the Under-19 world cup victory of India, yet again showing his potential on the world stage.
Sooryavanshi has continued his red-hot streak in IPL 2026, scoring 52 against Chennai Super Kings, 31 against Gujarat Titans and a scintillating 39 off 14 balls in his last two games. But what really stood out was his fearless manner of taking on world-class pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
The former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan was found openly complimenting the youngster and said that the game of attacking has even made Bumrah reconsider his tactics because of Sooryavanshi. Pathan described him as a “once-in-a-generation talent,” highlighting his fearless mindset and confidence at such a young age.
Such performances are putting the mounting pressure on BCCI selectors to induct Sooryavanshi into the senior national team as his ascendancy does not appear to be slowing down.
