SPORTS: Former India captain and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly said if 13th season of the IPL gets canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, then the BCCI will have to suffer a loss of around Rs 4000 crore.

Ganguly raised concerns over the impact on the board due to coronavirus, he shed some insights on the financial condition of the board if IPL 2020 gets slashed altogether this year. He also hinted that the apex body might have to go on a paycut if IPL 2020 is

 IPL 2020 which was earlier scheduled to get underway from March 29, has been suspended until further notice due to the pandemic outbreak. The lockdowns that have been enforced from 25th march in the country and across the globe has compelled IPL 2020 to give amiss.

Meanwhile, Saurav has also downcast the idea of India playing 5 Test series against Australia later this year as proposed by Cricket Australia. He said “I don’t think it will be possible for India to participate in five Tests. There will be limited overs games and plus we have to consider the 14-day quarantine guidelines. All this will extend the tour.”
