The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been told to have all franchises, except Punjab Kings (PBKS), meet up with their teams on their home grounds by Tuesday so as to revive IPL 2025 without further delays. The BCCI is severely mobilizing steps to end the remaining games on the first schedule, with a view to retaining the prevailing last date of May 25.

There are sources that indicate that the BCCI has made the official message regarding the coming changes to the IPL 2025 calendar known to each of the ten franchises. In anticipation of the resumption, the board is encouraging that all players are ready for action, especially the overseas cricketers, and are at the club’s disposal. However, foremost on the table now is enabling the re-entry of overseas players into the league. With the IPL paused on Friday, most international players returned home that very night.

In return, the BCCI has asked the teams to match closely with the board to verify whether all of their overseas cricketers will be prepared and when they will leave for these countries. In turn, every franchise is creating distinctive transportation arrangements so that their international players can be in India as soon as possible.

Franchise holders of Punjab Kings have been biding their time, with remaining suspicions of their home grounds in Chandigarh and Dharamsala being unsafe. One would expect the BCCI to appoint an impartial venue for PBKS to come and finish their fixtures, even as no further move has been taken.

Since the ICC World Test Championship final starts on June 11, involving Australia and South Africa’s top players while staying within IPL’s end date, the BCCI plans to conduct more double-headers in order to be able to conduct the competition adequately. This illustrates the keenness with which the BCCI is driven to comply with the deadline set to conclude the season.
