Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has announced retirement from all forms of cricket. Taking to his YouTube page- Harbhajan Turbanator on Friday, the veteran cricketer fondly remembered for his sensational bowling in the 2001 Border-Gavaskar series against the Australians made the announcement. A tweet on the spinners handle read- All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life. I would like to thank everyone who made this 23 year-long journey beautiful and memorable. My heartfelt thank you. Grateful.”
The 41-year-old Indian spinner last showcased his feat in T20I against UAE in 2016 and since then has limited his play only to the domestic forms. Playing for KKR, was his latest form of cricket, where he had a limited role, played only three matches and went wicketless.
Bhajji, set some of the finest records to his name in the cricket world. In Test cricket, Harbhajan knocked 417 wickets in just 103 matches. Playing nearly 236 ODIs, 227 wickets were picked up by Harbhajan. He bows out as the country’s fourth-highest wicket-taker after Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and R Ashwin.
