Sports: Ace Indian Shuttler Jwala Gutta tied the knot with her long-time South Indian boyfriend Vishnu Vishal in a private ceremony on Thursday 22nd of April.
The duo announced their relationship public in September last year when they announced their engagement. Last week, Vishnu announced their wedding date to fans on social media. He wrote, “LIFE IS A JOURNEY…EMBRACE IT… HAVE FAITH AND TAKE THE LEAP….Need all your love and support as always…#JWALAVISHED
The couple reportedly had a registered marriage that was attended by a few people close to them, in light of the rising COVID-19 cases in the state. Telangana Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud, was among the prominent persons, who attended the wedding and blessed the couple.
The duo donned sparkling attires for the pre-wedding ceremonies. Jwala shimmered in a sky-blue saree with a red border, while the Cricketer turned actor embraced the traditional South Indian white silk shirt and vesti on their wedding.
Sources reveal this to be the second marriage of the couple. Gutta was earlier married to fellow shuttler Chetan Anand while Vishal’s personal history reveals him to be a father to son. Gutta is a recipient of the Arjuna Award, has represented India in the Olympics in 2012 and 2016. She has won medals at most major international badminton tournaments and multi-sport events, and is known for her record in mixed and doubles badminton.
Vishal played a few Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) league games before a leg injury ended his cricketing career. The 36-year-old then went on to act in Tamil films and produce a few like ‘Silukkuvarupatti Singam,’ ‘Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran’ and ‘Ratsasan.’
