Ghaziabad: On April 26, 2024, free bike taxi, auto, and cab rides will be provided by e-hailing platform Rapido to the voters in return for their ballots. This offer is eligible for all Indian voters in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, including old citizens and voters with disabilities.
Additionally, on April 26, Rapido introduced its initiative, “sawaari zimmedari ki” and promised to provide free rides to senior citizens and voters with disabilities throughout Karnataka. Voters staying in Mysuru, Bengaluru, and Mangaluru can take advantage of free transportation to visit their polling booths. For the second phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Karnataka, Rapido has teamed up with the Election Commission and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahahanagara Palike.
Voters in Karnataka and Gaziabad can use the code “VOTENOW” to receive free Rapido services. Pavan Guntupalli, the co-founder of Rapido, stated that voters who are elderly or disabled have fair access to exercise their political rights.
Elections in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to occur in seven stages; votes will be counted on June 4. Phase 2 of the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for April 26, according to a statement released on March 16 by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The 89 seats up for election in the second round of the Lok Sabha election include thirteen states and Union territories.
