The Ministry of AYUSH has announced the opening of nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards on International Yoga Day (IDY 2025). These awards are given to people and institutions who have made significant and sustained contributions to the promotion and development of yoga at the national and international levels.
The Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards serve as a testimony to the Government’s commitment to recognise and celebrate significant contributions to the development and propagation of Yoga. He personally oversees these awards and strengthens the role of Yoga in the prevention of disease, health improvement and lifestyle disorders.
The winners will be announced on the 11th International Yoga Day (21 June 2025). The awards will be given in four categories, which will include Indian citizens, institutions based in the country and international organizations. Each winner will get a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. In case of joint winners in any category, the prize will be divided among the winners.
The person applying for the awards should be forty years of age or above, and should have at least two decades of experience in promoting yoga. Applications and nominations can be made on the MyGov platform (https://innovateindia.mygov.in/pm-yoga-awards-2025/) till March 31, 2025. This link is also available on the websites of the Ministry of AYUSH and other autonomous bodies.
Conditions for application
Institutions can apply for the awards directly or be nominated by a leading yoga organization. Each applicant or nominee can apply for only one category (national or international) each year. A screening committee constituted by the Ministry of AYUSH will review all applications and recommend at least twenty-five names to the evaluation jury.
