Poonch: An Al-Badr terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulga district, police said. They said Jammu and Kashmir police personnel as injured during the operation in Hoowra area of the South Kashmir district.

Police personnel said a cordon and search operation was launched by security forces in Hawoora area during the night after a specific inout regarding the presence of a terrorist. As the search party moved towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorist fired indiscriminately, leaving police personnel injured.

According to reports, the Indian Army eliminated 15 PAFF terrorists in two separate operations inside POK on June 16 and 24. The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared the People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), a proxy outfit of the terror group Jaish-e-Mohamed, a terrorist organization in January 2023. The ministry also designated Arbaz Ahmad Mir, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) member, as an individual terrorist under the stringent anti-terror law, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967.

Meanwhile, a joint security drill was conducted by police and central paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district agead of Eid-ul-Adha. The drill that continued today morning covered key areas of Kishtwar including Hudyal Chowk, Kichloo Mohalla, Jamia Market, Gudhali Chowk, among others before culminating at Chowgan Ground.
