Patna: The swearing-in ceremony of a fresh NDA-led government is set to take place from 11 am on Thursday, November 20, at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. The most debated topic in Bihar right now is which MLAs from the JDU, NDA, and their allies might be appointed ministers after the swearing-in ceremony. There is growing speculation within the party that it may replace its Deputy Chief Minister this time. Vijay Sinha, who held this position in the previous government, is likely to be replaced. Similarly, there is uncertainty about the future of current Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, although he remains a strong contender.
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar met governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Monday to apprise him about the cabinet decision recommending dissolution of the current legislative assembly. JD(U) minister in outgoing cabinet Vijay Kumar Chowdhary said on Monday that Nitish Kumar will submit his resignation on November 19 to the Governor.
Keshav Prasad Maurya, appointed as the observer for the BJP Legislature Party meeting, has arrived in Patna. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti has also accompanied him. Both leaders will be present at the BJP Legislature Party meeting today. Keshav Prasad Maurya has been appointed as the BJP observer, and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti as the co-observer.
Unlike the BJP, the JDU is not moving forward with any major changes to its ministerial portfolios. The JDU had 13 ministers in the previous government, and it’s likely that around 10 of them will be reappointed. Nitish Kumar currently holds high-budget portfolios like Education, Home, Energy, Rural Affairs, and Rural Development. The BJP wants a reshuffle of these portfolios, as it currently holds only the Health and Panchayati Raj ministries, but it’s reported that Nitish Kumar is not agreeing to these changes. The list of potential ministers for the BJP and JDU this time is as follows.
