New Delhi: The Supreme Court today granted interim bail to ex-AAP Minister Satyendra Jain for six weeks on medical grounds. This comes a day after Jain was admitted to the ICU at Lok Nayak Hospital after he slipped inside the prison bathroom.

Doctors at LNH, a Delhi government facility said that Jain was put on pain medicines for temporary relief and that they were formulating a treatment plan for him.

Satyendra Jain has been in Tihar jail since May last year following his arrest in money laundering charges and has been granted bail until July 11 even as Enforcement Directorate (ED) said it cannot trust LNH’s medical reports and that a panel of doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) should examine him.

The court shall hear the matter next on July 10, restraining Jain from talking to the media while granting him bail. It directed him against influencing witnesses, tampering with evidence or leaving Delhi. Additional solicitor-general SV Raju, who appeared for ED, said LNH’s reports could be fudged.
