New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate produced former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia in Delhi Court. The ED informed the court that the minister did not cooperate in the probe. The agency claimed that the Delhi Liquor Policy had benefitted the South group and the retailers got huge profits.

Contrarily, Aam Admi Party leader Manish Sisodia’s lawyer slammed the ED for considering arrest as a right without going through the due process of the law.  “It has become a fashion these days that the agencies take arrests as a right. It’s time for the courts to come down heavily on this sense of entitlement”, said Dayan Krishna, Sisodia’s lawyer.

Meanwhile, Aam Admi Party tweeted, “the bigger the corrupt, the bigger the office bearer is the new slogan of BJP. BJP’s leader is Harishchandra, otherwise, nothing was found in Manish Sisodia’s house, village, or bank, CBI accepted defeat. Woke up to arrest the education minister”.

The central agency today sought 10-day custody of the former minister from a special court as it sought to question him over alleged money laundering in framing the liquor policy for Delhi, which was later scrapped.

Earlier on 9 March, ED arrested Mr Sisodia, a day before his bail request in his arrest by Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI was to be heard in special court.
