This victory marks the peak of Bhati’s journey, where denial of ticket from BJP made his unexpected departure from the the party just weeks before the polls. Having campaigned conclusively in Sheo for over a year and a half, Mr Bhati’s expectation of a BJP ticket went unfulfilled, leading him to contest as an Independent candidate. Talking about his exit from the BJP, Mr Bhati, speaking with news channel without clearly naming the party, stated, “I think struggle is in my destiny… every time they leave me at the last moment, but somewhere there is a power that works in favor of me, helping me through tough times.”
