Madhya Pradesh: The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid his homage to Sepoy Karamveer Singh, who was killed in an anti-terrorist operation in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, earlier this month. “We are privileged to have a son like him. On his birthday, he was martyred after killing 2 terrorists,” CM SS Chouhan stated. “A Samman Nidhi of 1 crore rupees would be awarded to the family,” CM Shivraj said in Satna, paying tribute to Karamveer Singh. “His brother will also work for the government. A statue will be erected in his honour, and government institutions will be named after him, he further added.”
According to sources, Army jawan Karamveer Singh was killed in an encounter with militants in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, 2 days ago. After which, the army took the martyr Karamveer’s mortal remains to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, then by road to his native village of Rampur Behelum in the district of Satna, Madhya Pradesh. Today, his last rites are being performed.
