Srinagar: Addressing the first public rally in the Valley since the abrogation of the Article 370 that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah ruled out any possibility of dialogue with Pakistan today.
“I don’t want to talk to Pakistan. I would talk to Gujjars and Paharis of Baramulla. I will talk to the youth of Kashmir. They (Pakistan) have spread terrorism here. What good have they done for Kashmir”, said the home minister during the rally held at Baramulla. The rally was attended by 10000 people, most of whom were from the border areas of Tangdhar, Uri, and Bandipore. The traffic was restricted from about 10 kms from the venue.
Shah announced that the elections to the J&K Assembly will be held as the Election Commission completed the process of revision of electoral rolls in the Union Territory. He further highlighted the biggest achievement of Modi government that extended democracy to the grassroots in J&K.
