Sonam Kapoor becomes the only Indian to grace the coronation concert of Kings Charles. Well, Kapoor would join the likes of Richie, Katey Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, Alexis Ffrench, and the collaboration of 5 royal patronages among others. Tom Cruise, Joan Collins, and Tom Jones will appear via pre-recorded video messages.
As per reports, she will deliver an exclusive spoken word piece at the highly anticipated concert. Her speech will be a prelude to the Commonwealth virtual choir. She will also introduce Steve Winwood at the Windosor Castle- a press release stated. Winwood will perform a modern version of his iconic song “Higher Love” accompanied by 70 piece orchestra.
“I am honoured to join the Commonwealth virtual choir for this ceremony, celebrating His Majesty’s love for music and art. It’s a momentous occasion that signifies a commitment to a positive, inclusive, and optimistic future for the United Kingdom, with the Choir’s music paying tribute to the royal legacy and promoting unity, peace, and joy,” the 37-year-old actor said in a statement
The concert is produced, staged, and broadcast by BBC Studios featuring global music icons and contemporary stars coming together for the historic moment.
The 74-year-old successor of Queen Elizabeth will be formally crowned the king on May 6 alongside his wife Queen Consort Camiliia at Westminster Abbey in London May 6th. Million are expected to join the coronation over a long holiday weekend.
