Ahead of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, the Army shared key details about the parade and Beating Retreat. In the Army Parade Brief, Major General Navraj Dhillon stated that this year’s Republic Day parade will last approximately 90 minutes. The parade will begin at Raisina Hills and proceed via Kartavya Path to the Red Fort. On Republic Day, a tableau on Kartavya Path will showcase the entire 88-hour operation of “Operation Sindoor.” This tableau of the Indian Armed Forces also symbolizes India’s evolving military strategy and self-reliant defense capabilities. Prior to this, the Prime Minister will pay tribute to the martyrs at the National War Memorial. The parade will begin with the national anthem and a 21-gun salute.
Operation Sindoor reflected the growing strength of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the nation’s unwavering progress towards a developed India 2047. This year’s parade will feature several special features. The European Union (EU) marching contingent will also be part of the parade. Indian Army contingents will demonstrate offensive formations through battle eras, this time showcasing military tactics during war. Following this, the Beating Retreat ceremony will be held on January 29, in which bands from the Army, ITBP, CRPF, and BSF will perform Indian tunes.
All major combat contingents of the Army will participate in the parade. These include the Drone Unit, Loitering Munitions Unit, Signal Unit, and Logistics Contingent. Furthermore, All-Terrain Vehicles, Ladakhi Ponies, and Ladakhi Camels will also be part of the parade. The Army will also display a tableau from the Integrated Operations Centre. A total of six Army marching contingents will participate in the parade, along with Navy and Air Force contingents. Two BSF camel contingents, an Air Force tableau, and a Navy tableau will also be highlights of the parade. This year, a total of 30 tableaux will be presented, including those from 17 states and 10 central ministries.
This Republic Day, the tri-services tableau will showcase the lethality of “Operation Sindoor.” Based on the theme “Operation Sindoor: Victory through Jointness,” the tableau will be an impressive and powerful depiction of the nation’s evolving military doctrine, reflecting a decisive shift towards precision, integration, and indigenous superiority. It also sends a strong message from India that the era of decisive, joint, and self-reliant military power has arrived.
