Punjab: A formal announcement about the new chief minister of Punjab has been delayed as the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting scheduled for today has been postponed. Reports claim that Congress Member of Parliament, Ambika Soni has turned down the offer to be the next chief minister of Punjab.
Sources reveal that the Punjab CLP has deferred the meeting slated for 11 am as there is no consensus on the name of the new chief minister.
Earlier on Saturday, Captain Amarinder Singh quit following an escalation in the political crises in the state.
