Amaran, a biographical war-action film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has made over ₹200 crore worldwide. This makes it Sivakarthikeyan’s highest-grossing film to date. It is based on the lives of the late Major Mukund Varadarajan and his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
Amaran box office worldwide
The production house, Raaj Kamal Films International, shared a poster on X of Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund, which read, “Worldwide 200 crores highest grosser for Sivakarthikeyan.” They captioned the post, “From Battle Field to Box Office! #Amaran Hits 200 crore theatrical gross in 10 days #StrongerTogether.”
Media reports that Amaran’s first week’s net revenue in India was ₹114.85 crore. The movie is also anticipated to have made ₹14.5 crore net on Saturday, a 95.95% increase over the weekend. The film is anticipated to continue doing well at the box office due to the positive reviews and positive word-of-mouth.
Venkat Prabhu reviews Amaran
The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) director Venkat Prabhu reviewed the film on X, calling it a’must watch’. He wrote, “Absolutely blown away! @Siva_Kartikeyan and #SaiPallavi have delivered the performances of their lives. @gvprakash’s songs and RR are just mesmerizing, and the making is truly extraordinary..every moment is crafted with such brilliance. Amaran is based on the book series India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. After passing away in 2014 while participating in a counterterrorism operation, Major Mukund was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra. Sai played his wife Indhu in the movie, and Sivakarthikeyan played him. Under the auspices of Raaj Kamal Films International, Kamal Haasan produced the movie.
