Expressing his happiness on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Mahakumbh 2025 as a powerful symbol of chanting unity, spirituality, and national progress. According to him, researchers in the spiritual field would examine millions of Indians’ enthusiasm while participating in the grand event from Prayagraj. He said their findings would portray a nation proud of its rich heritage that is surging ahead with fresh energy.
Modi asserted that seeing the scale and spirit of the Mahakumbh, the country is now ‘stronger.’ After the conclusion of the event, he wrote in a blog that he thinks this is the beginning of a new era and a new era that will build India’s future. According to him, the citizens should learn a lesson from Mahakumbh, and they should not forget the Mahakumbh as an example to be taken from to work towards the development of the nation.
Modi also drew parallels between the spiritual gathering and national unity, saying: “At Mahakumbh, not only the rich or the poor, but the young or the old, the villager or the city dweller, the local or the outsider, the person belonging to one caste, school of thought, ideology where they put forward the idea of a sacred Yajna of unity. It turned into a magnificent spectacle of self-confidence among hundreds of millions of people with this show of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India). We have to harness this spirit now for the great Yajna of a developed India.”
Mahakumbh had shown tremendous power and potential of India to the world, he emphasized. Modi mentioned that India’s spiritual power has been such a force for unity for long as it referred to the Bhakti movement and visionaries such as Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo. He lamented that this strength was not put to use to the full extent in building a nation but expressed optimism that it is being used now in constructing a strong and self-reliant India.
Modi also reflected on the past 45 days of Mahakumbh, saying that his faith in India’s bright future has grown by many folds.
