Madhya Pradesh: An official said three police officers from Madhya Pradesh died in a car accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday morning while on their way to Haryana in an SUV with two others from Uttar Pradesh to rescue a kidnapped girl. Three officers were from the Budera police station in Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh district. Three people were injured in the incident, including a police chief constable, and were taken to a Mathura hospital, according to the official.
Tikamgarh Additional Superintendent of Police M L Chourasia said, “The police team was going to Haryana when their vehicle crashed into a road divider.” Police head constable Bhawani Prasad (52), constables Hira Devi Prajapati (32), and Kamlendra Yadav (28), he said, have been identified as the deceased. Preeti and Dharmendra, who were being taken from Uttar Pradesh to assist in the rescue of the kidnapped girl from Tikamgarh, also died in the accident, according to the ASP. According to him, police chief constable Rathi Ram, SUV driver Jagdish Lodhi, and Ravi Raikwar were injured. The officers were on their way to Bahadurgarh in Haryana when the tragedy occurred, according to Chourasia.
